About

A research prototype for global rural accessibility

RAI-Next is designed as an academic observatory for exploring how rural populations connect to services, opportunities, and infrastructure.

Project description

The platform presents a modern web interface for a future global Rural Accessibility Index that combines road-network distance calculations, rural population weighting, open service-location data, and dimension-level scoring.

Academic context

RAI-Next is suitable for university and research workflows that need transparent methods, country profiles, index comparison, and clear metadata.

Data status

188 complete country results are ranked; 5 partial results are excluded from rankings.
