Methodology

RAI-Next methodology

Calculated results cover nine service dimensions.

Current method

The site displays supplied Next RAI scores and nine service dimensions without recalculating them. Only complete results are ranked.

  • Administrative Services
  • Basic Consumer Needs
  • Transportation
  • Public Transportation
  • Digital Connectivity
  • Social and Religious Facilities
  • Financial and ATM Services

Limitations

  • Only complete results are ranked. Missing scores remain unavailable; partial scores are excluded from rankings, averages and map colors.
  • Marshall Islands: the source requires methodological review for island or archipelago geography. Interpret its score with this limitation.
  • Official World Bank values, where available, refer to country-specific years. Classic RAI proxy is a separate project estimate, not official World Bank data.
  • Ranks use descending scores and shared ranks for ties. Categories: High ≥70, Moderate 50–<70, Low <50. The four map color bands remain unchanged.
  • CYP uses the requested display name Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). This is a display alias only; the workbook identifier, score and original map geometry have not been reassigned.
  • Regions retain source groupings. SDS maps to SSD; KOS is a non-ISO source identifier. Import date is not the observation year. The calculator weights are illustrative.
  • Supplementary records have all nine dimension scores but lack source publication status, region and rural population metadata. They are included as supplied scores; missing metadata are not estimated. The workbook Notes sheet predates these additions.
